AlterX Co. elevates the classic tee with premium quality, sustainable materials,
transparent Los Angeles-based production and a purpose-driven approach

LOS ANGELES, California, September, 2023 - Organic apparel line, ALTER X Co., is giving the classic t-shirt a high-quality and purpose-driven edit. The DTC brand, founded in Southern California in 2020, is out to prove that “One Shirt Can Make a World of Difference”. Combining responsibly sourced fabrics with philanthropy, ALTER X Co. allows customers to not only invest in premium sustainable materials, but give back to others in the process. Partnering with various non profit organizations, the company currently gives $10 from each shirt to fight hunger and food scarcity.
All ALTER X Co. apparel is cut, sewn, and organically dyed in Los Angeles. To curb overproduction and unnecessary excess, production is small batch and meets SA8000 certified fair labor standards. The shirt, with its rich and buttery feel thanks to its 60/40 hemp organic cotton blend, is 9oz weight and tailored with a universally flattering fit. It meets the highest organic standards in the industry and has been rigorously tested for durability and colorfastness that is free from formaldehyde, plastics and heavy metals. Unisex crew necks include organically dyed colorways of clean slate, galaxy black and pure copper; while women’s scoop neck styles are available in whisper white and beyond blue.
Coming from a service-oriented family, ALTER X Co. founder Randy Allison has always made it his mission to help people; from volunteering at various food banks to providing support to help those challenged by poverty. During the height of Covid, Randy and his wife, a frontline worker, drove to Arizona to work in a facility on a Native American reservation serving hundreds of families impacted by the pandemic. Trading in his Southern California home for a travel trailer in an RV park, each weekend Randy would drive 500 miles back to Los Angeles to check on his family. It was during one of his drives through the desert, unplugged from the gridlock of Los Angeles, that ALTER X came to fruition.
“The core of ALTER X Co. is building on what I hope is a legacy of intentionally living a life that serves and helps others”, says founder Randy Allison, “Ever since our son was young, my wife and I have tried to show him a family dynamic that is actively and intentionally generous, loving and self-sacrificial. ALTER X is an extension of that sense of ‘doing for others’ and helping others hopefully do the same.”
Having been impacted by food insecurity himself, Randy was inspired to partner with the Mississippi Food Network (MFN) to fight hunger and food scarcity. For every ALTER X Co. t-shirt sold, 20% of profits go to the MFN foundation.
“I can't pinpoint the exact moment or what led me to pull up Feeding Americas website. But it was there where I found that the rural south, and specifically Mississippi, is ranked amongst the most poverty and hunger stricken places in our Nation.” Said Randy Allison. “Awareness of a need becomes personal when you have committed to a life of purpose.”
